One month old

Cliché but time flies. I am one month old today. When a baby reaches the one month milestone, they usually have a big celebration where the adults eat red eggs while the baby sleeps through the celebration. Unlike clueless baby, I am gonna have awesome BBQ ribs with potato mash tonight with my family.

The first thing that I saw when I reach my new home

My plane touched down half hour earlier than expected and it almost gave my uncle a heart-attack. I wonder if pilots get fined for speeding in the sky. By the time my uncle arrived, our flight details already disappeared from the notice board and he though he got the day wrong. I got a real warm welcome from my uncle and his family- aunt, cousin bro, cousin sis and rabbit. I have a room to myself. I can't really remember the last time I had my own room and wardrobe that I don't need to share. Not that I have many stuff.

Big room all to myself

The next morning the family matriarch which is my grand aunt treat us dim sum at Knox City. Knox City is the nearest shopping center near our house. I have been there more time than I can count. It feels kinda weird seeing Caucasians eating dim sum and using chopsticks. Weird in a good way. I feel kinda proud of my Chinese heritage when I see ang moh eating dim sum like it's their native food.

However there is something about big dim sums that don't look appealing to me. It's so big that even one siew mai needs 2 bites to finish it. Luckily it still tastes like what a siew mai should taste so I shouldn't be too picky haha.

My mum is due to leave next week. Although I think I have settle in quite well, mum still worries and have increased her nagging frequency. My recurring 100 day cough don't help matters. Worse, I stubbed my toe on the sofa leg and third toe's slightly swollen. Mum swore it looked slightly fractured. Clumsy on top of sick-prone.

Don't worry mum, I shall take good care of myself or die trying. Ha ha!
